Best qualified horses from the Series (November 13) start in the Final

2 Series: The 5 best qualified horses from each series

3 Series: The 4 best qualified horses from each series. 12 horses will then start in the final.

4 Series: The 3 best qualified horses from each heat. 12 horses will then start in the final.

In the event that one of the qualified horses does not wish to start in the final, this participation is forfeited. This spot will not be filled by the ‘best’ unqualified horse.

If there is 1 heat, all horses are eligible to start in the final (including the eliminated horses).

Starting positions
The starting positions are selected after the heats by the trainer, owner, or authorized representative of the best placed horses in the heats.

Order of selection

First the fastest winner of a heat, then the second fastest winner of a heat, etc. Then the fastest runner-up of a heat, then the second fastest. second place finisher in a heat. Then the fastest third place finisher in a heat, etc. In the event of a tie in total time, the horse with the highest actual winnings may be chosen first, and in the third instance, a draw decides who gets to be chosen first. In the event of a dead heat, the horse with the highest actual winnings may be chosen first. If that is also a tie, a draw will first determine which horse gets to be chosen first. This is limited to a maximum of 10 horses.

The heats on November 13 are charged 1% of the prize money for the final.
